Peer Education at Binghamton University is designed
to heighten awareness and deepen understanding about
issues that directly affect the lives of students: alcohol
and other drugs, tobacco use, social life, HIV/AIDS,
sexuality, self-esteem, peer pressure,relationships,
and healthy decision-making.

The REACH peer educators use a street outreach model to
bring crucial health information and resources to students
at Binghamton University!

The goal of the outreach educator project is to provide health information and behavior change skills to Binghamton University students in everyday student locations and environments on campus. Peer educators, acting in a health advocacy role, are armed with a special tote bag filled with information and resources as well as risk reduction materials (condoms, lubricant, tobacco quit kits, etc.).

The REACH peer educators engage students in their everyday environment (dining halls, university union, bus stops, residential communities, campus events, etc.) using short, focused conversations about a particular health topic.

A pair of REACH Peers may approach you on campus! If so, feel free to talk with them and ask questions...all conversations are strictly confidential!
